Having been forced from heaven in a boardroom coup, God decides to spend time among His creation, only to find that, perhaps, humanity had a point when it complained life was not all it was cracked up to be.

Disillusioned and just about ready to give up, He meets Eric who, though he does not know Him, finds Him vaguely familar, so reluctantly -- and nudged by his young daughter -- hands the poor down-and-out a recent windfall. God invests that money and builds a hugely successful yet benevolent business empire. However, although toasted by His friends, He cannot shake the feeling that something is missing inside; so He leaves everything behind and sets off around the world in search of what He was looking for, only to find it where he least expected.
